Negative Film Simulation on Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx - Sample Images

Intro

A few days ago, Ricoh released their new Negative Film picture profile for the Ricoh GR III. This film simulation is a welcome companion to Ricoh’s already popular Positive Film profile.

The best news of all is that Negative Film is free to all existing GR III users. All you need to do to get the new picture profile is install the latest firmware (version 1.7).

Negative Film launched along side a new special edition GR III, the Diary Edition. The Diary Edition comes with a custom strap, a canvas case, and is dressed in a warm-grey outer shell. It will be released in limited quantities.

Below I’ve included a number of sample images created with the new Negative Film profile. In the first section, I’ve done a side-by-side comparison of the standard profile vs Negative Film.

The last section of this article is a sample gallery of straight-out-of-camera JPEG images taken during daylight hours and in low-light.
