Natural Negative - Film Recipe for the Sigma FP and FP L

Natural Negative Recipe - Film Simulation for the Sigma FP and FP L

For those of you who enjoy film simulations, I’m happy to announce the release of a new one for the Sigma FP series of cameras. I call this one Natural Negative. It takes inspiration from two Ricoh GR III color profiles, Bleach Bypass and Negative Film.

It leans hard into Sigma’s Neutral Color Mode and the white balance adjustment adds a bit of warmth and life to the colors. I originally tested this recipe with the shadows at +2, but after critiquing the photos, I dropped them to -2 because I preferred the photos with a bit more contrast.

This recipe is very simple to input into the Sigma FP. You only need to adjust the white balance, tone, and Color Mode strength.

Recipe Instructions:

White Balance: Flash

Color Mode: Neutral (Strength +3).

Tone: Manual, Shadows -2, Highlights 0

All of these sample images are SOOC (straight-out-of-camera) JPEG images, the colors are original and have not been edited. The photographs were taken with the Sigma FP and the Sigma 45mm f/2.8 Contemporary lens and the TTArtisan 28mm f/5.6. You can read my review of the TTArtisan lens here.
